What is Ashlands exactly?
The Ashlands are a barren area covered in ash, with only Surtlings and glowing metal meteorites. These meteorites, often surrounded by Surtlings, are great places to get Surtling cores and Coal. You can also get Flametal ore from the glowing metal with an Iron pickaxe, but it’s not very useful.
Before going to the Ashlands, you need to beat The Queen in the Mistlands.
Her item holds significance there, similar to other boss items. If you’ve already defeated her, her item is now functional. Simply remove it from your inventory and pick it up again to unlock new possibilities. Get ready before you head into this strange and potentially valuable place.
Is there a release date for Ashlands?
The Valheim Ashlands Public Beta was released on the 22nd of April 2024. However, the full release date is not yet published.
How can I play the Ashlands Public Test?
Public Test – Singleplayer (PC only)
- Open the Steam Library and find Valheim.
- Right-click on Valheim in the menu and select Properties
- In the menu, select the Betas tab.
- Under the headline “Betas Participation”, select public-test.
- Now, close the menu and launch up Valheim. Done!
Public Test – Dedicated Server (Using DatHost)
- If you don’t already have a Valheim server on DatHost, you can rent one here.
- Navigate to the Settings tab of the Valheim server control panel.
- Find the “Branch” dropdown menu and select
Public Test.
